Mode of Action

REQUIEM possesses a unique mode of action that is unlike any other product on the market today. The active ingredient in REQUIEM is lipophilic – attracted to the oily outer surfaces of target pests – and works to kill target pests in three ways.

  1. REQUEIM breaks down the insect’s exoskeleton. This degradation of the body and joints causes a loss of fluid and inhibits the pest’s ability to move.
  2. REQUIEM clogs the trachea, interrupting the insect’s respiratory system, preventing respiration and causing suffocation.
  3. REQUIEM disrupts the insect’s ability to navigate, blinding it from finding sources of food. Without the ability to locate food, the pest stops its destruction of crops and starves.

With three different modes of action, the development of resistance to REQUIEM by target pests is unlikely, making it an excellent tool for resistance management, especially alongside other chemistries facing resistance issues.

Formulation

REQUIEM insecticide is a 25% emulsified concentrate formula with the active ingredient Chenopodium ambrosioides near ambrosioides. A superior blend of emulsifiers and surfactants give REQUIEM the power to control the toughest sucking pests. REQUIEM is available in 2.5 gallon jugs and has a shelf-life of more than two years.

 






Compatibility

REQUIEM insecticide, when used alone, is safe to use at label rates in all labeled crops. When using tank mixtures or rotational programs, please refer to the following guides.
